Comrade Miracle-Ann King represented the Barbados Workers’ Union at two major global meetings hosted by the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) in 2025, in her role as Co-Representative for the Dockers Section.

In March, she travelled to Singapore for the ITF Youth Committee Meeting, helping to set the ITF’s youth priorities for the next five years and deepening international solidarity for young workers. Then in May, she attended the ITF Dockers Committee and FPC Meeting in Barcelona, where she contributed to high-level discussions on automation, AI, health and safety, and port ownership. Barbados’ own OSH practices were spotlighted as a model for others, and her advocacy ensured that the concerns of BWU members were heard globally.

These meetings reaffirmed the importance of international collaboration and the Union’s commitment to preparing workers for the evolving demands of the modern workplace.
